GDI Features You Might Not Know About

GDI Features

GDI offers many tools and plugins. While you may know and use some of the big ones each day, like SiteBuilder or WordPress, GDI has many smaller offerings that are just as helpful. Get to know some of the lesser known GDI features and start using them!

Changing Your Username

Not happy with your username? You can change it. This name is what appears as the sponsor name when a new member signs up as part of your downline. You want this name to be professional, but maybe you weren’t thinking about that when you first made it. You can easily change your user name for a one time $10 fee. If you aren’t sure what to change your name to, GDI will even offer suggestions.

Changing your username is always the right choice if you’re unhappy with it. Remember, you can’t have multiple active accounts with GDI. So head to the Members Area and navigate to Change Username to change your name and get started with a new one now.

Marketing Kit

Not sure where to start with your marketing? GDI has you covered. GDI offers a fully customizable Marketing Kit for you to use to create your own marketing materials. In the Members Area, select Marketing Kit. Here you will find several printable items that can be seamlessly customized with your contact information. Find flyers, table tents, and more. Have questions about the Marketing Kit? You can find answers directly below the kit.

Hit Logs

Do you want to know if your online marketing is effective at driving traffic to your website? Check your Hit Logs. You can access you Hit Logs directly from the Members Area. Here you can see how many people are visiting your site.

Banners

Banners are an easy way to improve your SiteBuilder or WordPress site. You can find Banners in the Members Area as well. These Banners are images that link to your signup page. These can be added to your GDI website or any other website. Banners are added to your website with simple HTML coding that you copy directly from the Members Area. Paste that code into an HTML editor and a professionally designed and linked banner will now be shown on the website of your choice. Anyone who clicks on the banner will be taken directly to your page. Many of the banners also offer flash animation, to give your site a professional look. You can also use the Virtual ID banner to show off your affiliate level and experience directly on your website.

Duplication Bonus

Though it  may be a lesser-known bonus, the Duplication Bonus offers affiliates a chance to earn a big bonus for having an educated downline. For every 10 downline members that complete and earn their Learning Bonus, you will earn a $250 Duplication Bonus. The best part about this bonus is that it’s unlimited. It’s also a great way to build an educated downline–a downline more likely to succeed and stick with GDI.

What Makes For a Great Website?

What makes for a great website

GDI provides you with your internet address for life, which can be home to your website. Your website builds your reputation online and defines your online identity, so you want it to represent you well. But what makes for a great website? Read on for the basics, then get working on your internet address for life.

Information

For a website to be useful,  your website needs to provide something–a service, a product, a story. Information on how to take advantage of this is key. If you’re selling a product, be sure to inform your website visitors about its benefit, price, and how they can get it. If you’re selling a service, provide the same information. Telling a story? Provide information as to why this story is important. Make sure all of this information is easy to find. If your visitor can’t find this on your website quickly, you will quickly lose them.

Navigation

Now you’ve got great information on your website, but how do people get to it? Navigation is key to people staying on your website and getting the best use of it. This means having appropriate menus and menu titles. It’s a good idea to have menu titles that include: about, products/ services, and contact. Other titles may be necessary, but these are the basic needs of any website. Don’t mislead with your menus titles. Visit some of your favorite websites and see how the navigation works, then apply this to your site.

Images

The right images can keep people engaged with your website. Add images where it makes sense. Show people your product. Include an image of yourself or your team in the “About Us” section of your website. Try to use the best quality, high resolution photos you can find. A poor quality image will make you look unprofessional and will cause people to leave your website.

If you aren’t using your own images, make sure you have the rights to use ceraint photos on your website and provide credit and attribution when needed. Looking for photos to use on your website? Try Creative Commons—just be sure to check the rules and rights of the image before you use it on your website.

Content

As we’ve said in many posts, content is key. Content is a lot like information, but with an emphasis on quality. Information provides the basics of what your website visitors need to know, but content builds the story. Good content should be keyword rich and interesting. This should be stories that support your business, share your success, and display your unique knowledge. Stuck on what kind of content to create? Think of what you enjoy reading or what kind of websites you like. Then try to create content that mimics this.

Flashback Post: Your Best Tips to Succeed wtih GDI

This post originally appeared in October 2011

At GDI, we want to share our best tips for creating your own Income for Life. Some of our best tips often come from experienced affiliates who have been with GDI, made money with GDI and worked through obstacles. So we reached out to you for your best tips. And now we’re sharing them! Check them out below.

Take Your Time to Learn Marketing Strategies from a Good MentorPaul on Facebook

This is a great tip that many tend to bypass. It’s easy to want to jump as fast as you can into a new business, but if you don’t take the time to learn that business, it will be a much slower process for you to succeed. The GDI affiliate program is designed in such a way that everyone should have that mentor. As in the 9-5 corporate world, you need to be careful of who you do business with and do your research. Really talk to someone before you sign up with them to make sure they are committed to you and your success as much as their own. These are the people who will share what works for them and educate their team on marketing tips and strategies to be successful with GDI.

This is the same if you are trying to get someone to join your team. Show that you are capable of being that great mentor and helping your entire team grow and thrive. Take the time to educate your team members on what you have learned so that they have the chance to be as successful as you.

Promote on You Tube, You Will Have Access to EveryoneJoseph on Facebook

This is just another reason why video marketing is so popular. When you create video, you want to add it to your personal GDI site, but also make sure it is available on YouTube. This way you will be open to people who are browsing YouTube and learning more, but haven’t quite made it to GDI or your specific site yet. This opens a whole new potential network for you and as Joseph said gives you access to everyone in the world (who is browsing YouTube of course!). Combined with easy access, YouTube videos are also very easy to share and embed anywhere.

Stay Determined and FocusedSilas on Facebook

We talked about this recently, but it’s important enough to repeat. To succeed in any business you must remain determined and focus on your goals. Setbacks will happen, but it is important to work through them if you ultimately want to be successful. Remember to set goals and focus on them. Perhaps you joined GDI on a whim, not knowing what to expect back. You need to decide what you would like back. Set goals, create a plan to attain them and stay focused and determined!

Get Your Contact List Together and Send Emails Through GDI Darryl on Twitter

This is another important tip that we have covered on the blog before. The Inviter is an awesome tool to quickly get out emails with your GDI website to all of your contacts. The more people you share your opportunity with, the better your odds are for building your team. Log into your Members Area and start using the Inviter today.

Don’t Try to Reinvent the WheelDarryl on Twitter

If you’ve ever attended one of our webinars, this is something you have heard over and over and for good reason! GDI is an easy opportunity and there is no need to overcomplicate it. When you start to overcomplicate things, it’s too hard for your team to understand and replicate that success and you may even be scaring off potential team members. A good way to succeed with GDI is to find out what works for you and how to replicate that simply and easily so that others can be as successful. Talk to your upline or other affiliates and find what works for them, with some trial and error you will find the plan that works for you.

Good luck! Share any tips you think we missed in the comments!
