GDI’s Facebook Page allows us to connect with many of our affiliates as well as potential affiliates and fans all at once. Your team Facebook Page can serve the same purpose. Create a Facebook Page for yourself and your downline members. Use the page to stay in touch with your team as well as to tout successes and share any news or ideas. As you build out your page and you and your team become active, it becomes a great marketing tool. Fill Out Job Information

Your Facebook profile allows you to add job information if you please. Take advantage of this to publicize your work with GDI in a subtle way. Visitors to your profile can see you’re a GDI affiliate and reach out to you to learn more. To add your job information, go to your Facebook profile, click About and then Edit and Add Job.

Don’t Spam

Facebook is a way to connect with people and start conversations. Conversations are never started with link blasting and SPAM. With Facebook’s feature that allows people to control what they see in their news feed, uninvited content could get you hidden forever. Share your successes and news, but don’t junk up your friend’s news feeds with useless links.

Conversations Build Relationships; Relationships Build Your Team

It all starts with a conversation. Affiliate marketing is about building relationships and opportunities. The best way to do that is with conversations, but it has to be the right kind of conversation. Stumbling over words and making an uneducated sales pitch isn’t going to get anyone interested in their own domain. Mastering the art of a powerful conversation while sharing information about your opportunity will surely help you to succeed. We share a few tips to help you have the right conversations.

Educate Yourself

A dialogue between you and a prospective team member will include questions on their part and you need to answer them. If you find you don’t have all the answers, brush up on some of your GDI knowledge. A great way to do this is to reach out to you upline with your questions. If you don’t have time for that log in to your Members Area and check out the FAQs and the Tutorial Videos there. Lastly, this blog is a great resource. Take advantage of the search box at the upper right to find posts on specific topics.

Practice

If you had a big speech or a presentation on your calendar, you would practice, right? These relationship building conversations are just as important. Think of what you would like to cover in your conversation and reach out to your upline to have a few practice conversations. You can even reach out to a friend who doesn’t know much about GDI to help you be prepared for what kind of questions may be asked of you.

Have the Right Conversations

Lastly, for these conversations to work, they need to be natural. That may seem impossible when you have a specific motive, but try to find ways to connect with those you are talking to. Use personal stories to nail down a point or talk about specific GDI offerings like .WS email and how they’ve made your life easier. Remember, you’re just talking to another person like yourself with goals and dreams, try to relate to them as much as possible while sharing your opportunity.

Utility Marketing

Social media gives affiliates an unprecedented chance to market themselves in ways never available before. You can connect with thousands of people on Twitter in a matter of seconds and build fans and friends on Facebook you never knew existed. But the ease of social media can be a double edged sword. Tweeting and posting all day and night will turn off followers and even get you marked as a spammer. Tweeting and posting in more manageable way isn’t any good either if you’re not sharing content others would be interested in.

To avoid these pitfalls, practice what is called utility marketing when it comes to social media. Utility marketing means using your voice in these forums in a way that would be helpful to others and offer them something they can utilize. This means your tweets and posts should always aim to be worthy of a retweet or share or spark some conversation. So before you broadcast your messages to the world, ask yourself what others can use or utilize from what you’re sharing.
