Super Bowl of Marketing

We’ve got affiliates all over the world, but this weekend is an important one for many sports fans in the US. It’s Super Bowl Sunday this weekend, and while it may seem like it’s all about [American] football, there are many marketing lessons to be learned from the hype for the big game and the commercials. We share three marketing tactics that have been used in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl and will surely be seen again on Sunday.

Create Buzz

The Super Bowl hasn’t even happened yet, but many people are already placing bets on what will be the best commercial. This is because many companies have been working for the past month to tease their products and leak commercials to create buzz leading people to want to learn more. This is something you can do in network marketing too. Though you don’t have the budget for these blockbuster commercials, you do have the internet, social media and your own website right at your finger tips. Create buzz with short emails about your new videos for GDI. Create buzz with videos on your website inviting people to learn more about your business. Don’t wait until you’ve finished your site completely or edited your video totally to tell people about it, share beforehand what people can expect and keep them interested while you work behind the scenes.

Let People Know Where to Find You

It’s impossible to see a commercial these days that doesn’t end with a website and their Facebook and Twitter account information. These companies want to make it as easy as possible for you to learn more and stay engaged. Use this tactic with your business, make sure everyone who comes to you site, sees your video, or stumbles onto your Twitter knows exactly how to contact you and where to learn more.

Invite Conversation

Before the Big Game, you already know some of the commercials will be playing and who will be performing in between plays. This kind of information invites conversation. Conversation is another way to get people engaged, even those who don’t care about American football. Companies know that conversations are powerful and that word of mouth marketing can’t be beat. So share information and ask questions on your social media sites that will start conversation and get people talking about your business.

Common Setbacks and Solutions

A Slow Month

Whether it’s your first month or you’ve been with GDI for years, a slow month is bound to happen every now and then. The most important thing to do when this happens is to not get discouraged. This is a major issue with our new affiliates who start a little slow out of the gate, but don’t worry, it’s common and those who are successful simply work through it. Take a slow month as a sign that you need to switch up your marketing or strategy or simply need to put more hours into you work. One of these will certainly pay off. Remember, when you work with GDI, you are creating your own business. If a real business had a slow month or two would they just show down? No, they would adjust and push forward, as should you. And remember the “investment” to start your own business with GDI is a tiny fraction of what it would be to start a business with out it. So work through the slow months and stick with it.

You’re Not Computer Savvy

GDI is aware that while most marketing for the opportunity occurs online, not all affiliates are at teh same level of skills when it comes to creating a website and marketing online. That’s why GDI has presented the tools here for you to create your own site and market easily, no background knowledge requires. To create your own professional looking site with little knowledge, simply log in to your Members Area and then to SiteBuilder. SiteBuilder will take you through the creation of your site step by step, asking you to input information, chose a layout and a template, helping you to easily create your own site. GDI also offers “out of the box” tools to help you market simply with no need for a marketing or advertising degree. These tools include ready to add banners, buttons and movies as well as our Inviter which will send email invitations to your opportunity for you.

Can’t Get in Touch with Your Upline

One of the keys to a successful network marketing venture is communication and a good team. These are hard to have if you can’t get in touch with your upline. To combat this, we provide you with all of your upline’s contact information. Simply log into you Members Area and click on Upline in the left hand navigation for this information. You can even head over to Live Chat to start and instant conversation with any members of your upline or downline that are available. Finally, remember to be a good, responsive upline yourself!

Three Traditional Marketing Tips to Use for Network Marketing

Use Social Bookmarking Sites

As you may have noticed, beneath each post on this blog there area a few counters and logos for sites. The Affiliate Blog uses the Share This tool to easily let any of our readers share our blog posts easily on Facebook, Twitter, through email or through social bookmarking sites. If you aren’t familiar with social bookmarking sites, they are a lot like their name implies. Social bookmarking sites allow you to create an account and profile so that you can favorite or bookmark any links you want, these favorite links then become part of the profile you have created with these sites, and people can browse your profile for links. Your favorite links are also shared in a feed for anyone one to stumble upon. You can use social bookmarking sites to bookmark your own important blog posts and encourage your visitors to do so too. This is great for SEO and just sharing your site in every way possible.

Create Content Ahead of Time

As we’ve shared in past posts, a great way to increase SEO and your visitor base is to ensure you always have fresh content. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you visit your website and realize you need to update it and write something right NOW. But instead of getting in moments of panic, create content ahead of time and create a schedule. If you have WordPress you can even schedule your posts to be published on specific dates in the future. You site is going to look more viable when your content is new and relevant to your readers.

Explain Things Simply

The GDI opportunity may be simple to you, but remember that people visiting your site might not quite understand it yet and need a little guidance. This is where it is ok to be very simple and straight forward in your writing. Explain the GDI opportunity to your site visitors and why it is important to them. Be clear and concise to help answer some of their first questions. Bullet points, images and personal success stories can help to make your point as well. The better you explain the opportunity and benefits, the better chances you have to succeed with GDI.
