Encourage Engagement with Blog Posts

Blogs are a powerful way to connect with your audience, share your story, and build a brand. That’s why GDI offers a WordPress plugin as well as a blog plugin for our SiteBuilder service. Once you’re set up with the plugin of your choice, it’s time to think about how you want to blog. Here a three ways to create content that encourages engagement from your visitors.

Don’t Repeat Yourself

Think of the message you want your blog posts to convey before you write them. If you’re writing posts to encourage people to join GDI, think of new ways to write this call to action. Simple repeating posts that tell people to “sign up today!” defeats the purpose of a blog; blogs are a vehicle for fresh content. Create a new way to frame your messages with each post to keep visitors interested.

Connect to the News around You

One way to avoid repeating yourself is to follow the news. You can set up Google alerts for news related to your blog topic. Use these news stories to connect your blog posts and keep them relevant. This is also great for SEO as topics in the news are sure to be hot search topics for some time.

Switch Up Content

This tip helps your blog visitors as well as you. Switch up the type of content you’re sharing on your blog. This means taking advantage of all you can share from videos, to lists posts, to articles and blogs you like (attributed, of course). This will keep visitors engaged and will help you to avoid blog writers block!

GDI’s Blogging Options

Blogging is a powerful way to share content, connect with visitors, and promote your GDI opportunity. Use your blog to talk about success and challenges, new marketing tactics, or just to share pictures and videos. Blog are easy to maintain and update. GDI offers three options for building and sharing your blog.

SiteBuilder Blog

If you want to create a blog but still create your WebSite with SiteBuilder, the SiteBuilder blog plugin is for you. Head to your SiteBuilder Main Menu and select the Plugins tab on the left hand side. Check the Active box to the right of the Blog plugin. You will then be prompted to name your blog. Once your blog is named you will be taken to the editor for your first post. Your blog is now ready to go!

WordPress

You can edit, format, and publish blog posts with WordPress. You can customize your blog by adding new widgets or new themes. If you already have a WordPress blog, you can also easily move it to GDI.

To create a WordPress blog , log in to your Members Area and navigate to Plugins. Here you can activate your blog or create new ones. Once your blog is live take advantage of it by customizing it every way you can. Add plugins, manage widgets and play with themes. Once your blog looks the way you would like, utilize WordPress to its fullest by adding and scheduling posts, posting video and sharing photos. The possibilities with WordPress are endless! Hosting

If you already have a blog with another service, you can still host it with GDI. GDI offers a hosting package that comes complete with FTP access, 1GB of storage space, and 100GB monthly bandwidth. How to take advantage of it

SiteBuilder is easy to take advantage of since it is so user friendly. As stated above, all you need to do is log in to your Members Area and select Build Your WebSite. Choose SiteBuilder as your option and you can start to create your site with the help of the SiteBuilder Wizard. You can add new pages, photos videos and more. Once you’ve completed the wizard, you can easily edit any page with SiteBuilder by clicking the edit button from your main SiteBuilder menu.
