Google+ is a social networking service offered by Google that allows for status updates, links, photos and more to be shared much like they are on Facebook, but with the added privacy of sharing this information only with certain circles that you set up. If you already have a Google account, setting up a Google+ profile can be seamless. To learn more on how to do this, see our post HERE.

Google+ offers a fun feature that can help you instantly create engagement for a blog post or your website. This feature is the embed post. Any time you share an update on Google+, you have the option to embed that update somewhere else. The embedded update will show up similar to post below.  It allows visitors to instantly comment and interact with your Google+ post right on your blog or website. This is a great option to encourage more interaction or just break up your content with something new.

To embed a Google+ post, go to your Google+ page and share what’s new. Once that new post is live on your page, click the down arrow that appears in the top right-hand corner of the post. Select embed post and HTML code will pop up in the window. Copy and paste that code into the HTML editor of your blog or website and save. Your embedded Google+ post is now live and ready for comments and new followers.

  1. Follow GDI on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and Pinterest. We have profiles on all the big social sites and are always happy to chat with you, answer your questions and share news and advice.
  2. Decide which sites work for you and sign up. There’s a new social network popping up every single day, but that doesn’t mean you have to join. Make sure you’re on the “big” ones like the sites listed above and then decide if you’d like to join any other. Social networks can be very niche oriented and specific to interests, so join the ones you like and leave the rest behind.
  3. Follow and interact with thought leaders, industry leaders and successful networkers. Take the time to do searches on social networks to find out who is offering great content and is interacting with others. These are the people you stand to gain something from by tweeting and connecting with them.
  4. Use your links wisely. Include links to your website and GDI opportunity in your profiles and share them in posts. Be sure NOT to link blast, spam or just throw your link into any post or comment. Be sure to have thoughtful comments and posts and relevant links, this will drive traffic to your site and keep you out of trouble.
  5. Create content that is meant to be shared. One of the main perks of social media sites is how quickly and easily tweets, posts, or videos can go viral. For something to get shared again and again, it must be great content. Take the time to write smart posts, great videos and educational tweets. Once you have something you want to share, do so and ask your followers to share as well. Just asking can go a long way in social media.

What is Google+?

Google+ is a newer social networking service offered by Google that allows for status updates, links, photos and more to be shared much like they are on Facebook, but with the added privacy of sharing this information only with certain circles that you set up. If you already have a Google account, setting up a Google+ profile can be seamless.

What is a Google + Profile?

From Google: Your profile is the way you represent yourself on Google products and across the web. With your profile, you can manage the information that people see — such as your bio, contact details, and links to other sites about you or created by you.

While your profile is public, your full name is the only required information that will be displayed on your profile; you’ll be able to edit or remove any other information that you don’t want to share. Your profile is all about you, and you deserve to be in control of your information.

What Are Circles?

From Google: Google+ Circles helps you organize everyone according to your real-life social connections–say, ‘family,’ ‘work friends,’ ‘music buddies,’ and ‘alumni’. Then, you can share relevant content with the right people, and follow content posted by people you find interesting.

You can also decide to customize your personal profile information for your circles. For example, your contact details, location, and relationship information would be visible to your friends circle, while your employment history and education would be visible to your alumni association circle.

Should I Set Up a Google+ Profile or a Google+ Page?

This depends on what your use for it will be. If you want a profile to share information with family and friends, but also with possible network marketing contacts, then a profile with different circles may be the best choice for you. If you would like to set up a page, specifically for your team, like XYZ Marketing, then a Google+ business page may make the most sense.

How will Google+ Help My Network Marketing Efforts?

Staying with the trends is always in your best interest for network marketing. Google+ allows you one more way to expand your network marketing reach online. Taking the time to learn what Google+ has to offer and sharing status updates and connecting it like minded individuals on can prove beneficial to building your business and Income for Life.
