What is Google+?

What is Google+?

Google+ is a newer social networking service offered by Google that allows for status updates, links, photos and more to be shared much like they are on Facebook, but with the added privacy of sharing this information only with certain circles that you set up. If you already have a Google account, setting up a Google+ profile can be seamless.

What is a Google + Profile?

From Google: Your profile is the way you represent yourself on Google products and across the web. With your profile, you can manage the information that people see — such as your bio, contact details, and links to other sites about you or created by you.

While your profile is public, your full name is the only required information that will be displayed on your profile; you’ll be able to edit or remove any other information that you don’t want to share. Your profile is all about you, and you deserve to be in control of your information.

What Are Circles?

From Google: Google+ Circles helps you organize everyone according to your real-life social connections–say, ‘family,’ ‘work friends,’ ‘music buddies,’ and ‘alumni’. Then, you can share relevant content with the right people, and follow content posted by people you find interesting.

You can also decide to customize your personal profile information for your circles. For example, your contact details, location, and relationship information would be visible to your friends circle, while your employment history and education would be visible to your alumni association circle.

Should I Set Up a Google+ Profile or a Google+ Page?

This depends on what your use for it will be. If you want a profile to share information with family and friends, but also with possible network marketing contacts, then a profile with different circles may be the best choice for you. If you would like to set up a page, specifically for your team, like XYZ Marketing, then a Google+ business page may make the most sense.

How will Google+ Help My Network Marketing Efforts?

Staying with the trends is always in your best interest for network marketing. Google+ allows you one more way to expand your network marketing reach online. Taking the time to learn what Google+ has to offer and sharing status updates and connecting it like minded individuals on can prove beneficial to building your business and Income for Life. If you create a Google+ business page, this page and its posts will also come up in search results, giving you another way to gain traffic.

Manage Your Online Identity to Promote Growth

Using the internet to grow your business with GDI has never been easier. You can build a presence online and connect with people through your website, blogs, social media sites and much more. But with everything you do online these days, you are creating an internet identity. Read our tips below to make sure your online identity is working with you instead of against you.

Work with Your Team

People talk and review online constantly, and you don’t want a discouraged downline member badmouthing you online to potential new team members. This is one of the many reasons it is important to be a responsive upline and be as helpful as possible to all of your team members. Not only does your success depend on them, but so does your reputation. Don’t let someone else create a bad online identity for you.

Become a Thought Leader

This is a great chance to take the knowledge you know and share it in public online places. Help others on Facebook and Twitter by answering their questions and connecting with them. Share helpful blog posts and respond to inquiries on our forum. People you connect with will trust you and regard you as a thought leader. Also, when people search your name or your team online, they will see how helpful you are, and how you standout above others with the help and support you offer.

Do Your Homework on Yourself

Take your time to search and check up on yourself online to see what is already out there. What kind of identity have you already created without even trying? Try to diffuse any bad reputation you may have gotten with more helpful and open information and kept the good stuff coming if you already have a great online identity. You want your most recent, helpful sites and information to be at the top of results, helping people make a quick decision on whether or not to join your team.
