Refocus and Set New Goals After a Setback

We’ve already talked this week about the importance of focus. As long as you make it a priority, it is easy to focus on your business, your goals and your outcomes. However, it can be very easy to lose focus when things don’t exactly go the way you planned. Your focus can be shaken after a slow month, a slow start or losing some downline members. Read our tips for keeping your focus during setbacks.

Refocus

It may not seem like the perfect time for anything, but a setback is a great time to refocus. Examine your goals and focus on the steps you need to take and what you might need to change to achieve them. Also take the time to focus on and learn from what may have caused your setback. Were you very hands-off this month? Did you ignore your downline? Focus on what needs to be done to shake off the setback and move forward.

Don’t Dabble

While it may make sense to have your hands in a few different opportunities to see which one takes off, chances are, none will. To be successful you need to focus your efforts on building your business to just one business. Did you have a slow month because you were focused on starting another opportunity? It is important to truly work to build your business and not just sign up for opportunity after opportunity without really putting in the time needed to succeed.

The Importance of Focus

Part of what draws many people to GDI and any affiliate marketing opportunity is that entrepreneurial spirit. It is the desire to create something of your own and be your own boss. But what also comes with this is a desire to try things and quickly move onto the next or be involved with one too many projects without giving the full dedication that is needed to succeed. Focus is an important part of success, if you can’t focus on your business and your plans for success it difficult to move forward.

Build a Basic Connection

Your most important connection when starting out with GDI is your upline. It is important to build a relationship with your upline even before you sign up. Your upline is the person who should have the answers and assistance there for you whenever you need it. Your upline is someone who is more experienced than you with GDI and you want to make sure you have good open lines of communication with them. Pepper them with questions before you sign up, send them emails and ask them about their own successes and struggles before you join their time. If you have already joined with an upline, it’s not too late. Take the time to reach out to your upline and ask for help at any time. To find your upline simple navigate to your Members Area>Upline.

Focus Your Attention on One Opportunity at a Time

First and foremost, if you are discouraged with your slow progress with GDI, take a second to look at how much time you are devoting to it. While GDI offers a business model that can do the work for you, your work is still needed. If you’ve signed up and walked away from your computer waiting for the money to roll in, this is your first problem. Many successful affiliates will tell you that GDI gives you the tools to succeed, but you need to use them!

Secondly, if you’re involved in several affiliate programs, this could be another reason for your slowed progress. Giving multiple opportunities some of your attention will not pay off in the same way that giving one opportunity (like GDI) your full attention will. Also take the time to focus your goals and plans for success for GDI. Make a plan for what you would like to achieve with GDI and follow it, don’t get distracted with each new marketing strategy. Focus on what works for you.

How do I set up POP or IMAP?

From within the email client you wish to use, you will need to enter the following information:

1) Incoming Mail Server -> email.ws

2) Outgoing Mail Server – Provided by your ISP

3) Account Name -> Email.ws address you are using to setup

What is email forwarding?

Email forwarding allows you to have all new incoming email for a specific address forwarded to a different email address automatically. You may forward mail by creating a Forwarded Prefix or setting an Active Mailbox to forwarding. For Active Mailboxes, when email forwarding is DISABLED new messages are delivered into your inbox like normal. When email forwarding is ENABLED, new messages are NOT delivered to your inbox. Instead, they will be forwarded to the inbox of the destination email address you specify.

What’s the difference between an Active Mailbox set to Forwarding, and a Forwarded Prefix?

You may login and send mail from an Active Mailbox set to forwarding. Previously received mail that is stored in the inbox will remain while the Active Mailbox is set to forwarding, and you may continue to send mail. If an address is created in the Forwarded Prefixes section of your account, there is no actual mailbox associated with the address: there is no mailbox to login to, and you may not send mail using that address.
