The Benefits of a Contact Form

We recently shared some tips on how to decide if you should be marketing the product or the opportunity. And while this decision is all your own (though we recommend marketing both), anyone using GDI in anyway can benefit from the use of a contact form. What do we mean by a contact form? Simple. Just any short form, like the example you see below that allows you to get information from someone visiting your site and learning about your GDI opportunity.

Benefits

If you work hard to drive people to your site, share you links across social media and link to your GDI site often, people will be visiting your site to learn more. But what do you know about these people? Who are they? Analytics can tell you how many people are visiting your site, when and how they got there, but this doesn’t do you much good if you want to follow up with these people.

This is why you need to add a contact form to your website. It makes visiting your site and getting in contact with you much easier. A contact form will allow anyone interested in your GDI opportunity to leave their information and allow you to contact them and educate them on GDI and hopefully get them in your downline in the future. Having a contact form with a call to action to learn more is essential to getting information on those people who just aren’t sure if they are ready to sign up.

How to Use It

Like we mentioned above, have a call to action. A contact from is no good if you don’t tell people how to use it. A call to action like “Enter your name and email to learn more” is a simple and effective way to grab those people who may need a little more convincing. Be sure to ask for what info you need to contact these people, but do not over reach by asking for things like a home address or even a phone number. A valid email and name should be enough for you to contact someone and not so much information that it makes the uncomfortable. If you don’t alreayd use a contact form check out http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/contact-form-7/ for an easy to use Contact Form plug in. You can also hear AGC member Brian Bear discuss contact forms in a recent webinar here: http://youtu.be/ffqqiB9AK7o#t=13m20s .

Contact forms also have the added benefit of making your website look more professional and trustworthy by showing that there is person behind it that they can get in touch with. So start using contact forms to get more information on your visitors and hopefully grow your business!

Do you use contact forms? What has been your experience?

You Asked: The Product or the Opportunity?

A question we often hear at GDI is “What should I market, the product or the opportunity?” The short answer is that this is something you have to decide for yourself. But top help you decide we’ve included some tips below.

How well do you understand the product?

All of our members should understand the website hosting and email that GDI offers and better yet take advantage of it. But since we know this may not be the case for everyone, decide where you fall. Do you use a replicated site and have no interest in hosting? Well then you are someone who should be advertising the opportunity. It doesn’t make sense to try to explain and sell someone on something you aren’t using yourself.

If you are someone who takes advantage of GDI website hosting and know every in and out of the product, you are someone who should be selling the product. If you love the product people will be able to see that and want to get on board with it.

What kind of people do you work best with?

Do you work best with people who get really excited about a new idea or offering, or do you prefer to work with people who take a more analytical approach. A lot of this can be based on your own experience and is in no way a scientific fact, but try to take personality types into account when trying to get someone into your downline.

Someone who is very excitable and good at getting others excited, could be very good at selling the opportunity, and this is someone you may want to work with if you feel the same. Someone who takes a more calculated look at things may need a little more of a push could really benefit from being sold the product and explained the virtues of it in combination with the opportunity. Try to figure out the kind of people you want in your downline and it will help you decide what you should be selling.

What is your selling style?

Your selling style is a combination of the answers to the two questions. Try to mix your personality with what you know and you will be able to see what you are better at selling.

How about both?

You can follow the steps above to stick with selling either the product or the opportunity, or you could do both. Don’t limit yourself on only trying to sell one aspect of GDI, you have multiple selling points at your finger tips, so use this to your advantage. Get educated on the product, refine your pitch and decide what you want to sell on a person to person basis.

Tips for Building Your Network and Downline with the Right People

As you answer these questions, there is no doubt that some people you already know will come to mind. These people may think the same way about business as you or just have the drive to succeed. Invite them to become a GDI member. Be sure to explain the opportunity clearly and get their thoughts and insights on the opportunity to build Income for Life. Once you get some feedback, this will help you think of more people and personality types who might be interested in GDI.

LinkedIn
