Two WordPress Tips

Schedule Your Postsscheduledpost

If you don’t think you have the time to update your blog daily, weekly or even monthly, then you need to schedule your posts. WordPress allows you to draft blog posts, ready them for publication and then select the date and time they go live. You can schedule posts in advance  by selecting “edit” near the “publish immediately” setting, select your date and time and then select “schedule.” You can always go back and change a post to publish immediately or change the scheduled date. Take the time to create content in advance or in one big binge, then spread that content out over scheduled dates so your readers always have something new.

Use an SEO Plug In

There are tons of SEO plugins available for WordPress. These plugins help you identify keywords in each post and suggest how and in what ways you should use them to get your post shown in more search results. Having your post properly set up with keywords using an SEO tool will help you craft better content and drive more people to your blog and opportunity. Simply search plugins for “SEO” and you’ll see a myriad of options. Try them out until you find one you like or just choose one based off of reviews.

How to Use GDI’s WordPress Theme

wordpressWordPress is a great option if you want more freedom for design and widgets on your WebSite but aren’t comfortable building your own. WordPress can be overwhelming with the number of options for themes and designs, so GDI offers our very own WordPress theme. Here’s how to use it.

  1. Activate your WordPress blog and go to Edit from the plugins menu.
  2. You will log into your new WordPress blog and be on the Dashboard. Here you can see all the options you have to play with.
  3. On the left-hand side navigation select Appearance>Themes. Within this category you will see the ready made GDI theme: GDI Template 1.0.
  4. Select Activate below the GDI Template 1.0 and you’re ready to use your WordPress blog and GDI theme.

If you still aren’t sure if you want to use the GDI Template for your blog, here are three reasons you should:

  1. A link directly to your sponsor page, no set up needed. In the top right corner of your blog is a red button that says “Get your own blog” that leads visitors right to your sign up page.
  2. Buttons to all your favorites. The right sidebar of the GDI theme has buttons for GDI’s Income Calculator, the 7 Minute Movie and multiple video presentations. Again, no work needed on your part.
  3. GDI’s colors and theme. The professional design and theme colors of the GDI Template give your blog a professional look and also shows you’re a legitimate affiliate with use of the GDI logos and colors.
