Build Your Downline Effectively

Each downline member that joins with your team is a chance for everyone to make money thanks to GDI’s pay outs. However, your job isn’t done once someone signs up with you; in fact this is where the real work begins. A key to success in GDI is the longevity of your team members. One way to achieve this is by working to build the right team step by step. Here are a few things to focus on when you get a new team member.

Communication

Whether it’s a random sign up or someone you’ve been talking to for weeks, communication is very important in the beginning. This will not only help your new team member get ramped up and ready to go with GDI, but also give you a feel for their level of interest and commitment. This early communication can help you identify someone who might need a little more help and guidance or someone who is ready to go on their own.

Education

People are going to have questions when they first start with GDI and it’s important for you to address them before they can even ask them. Have education materials ready for new team members like videos, blog posts and emails that address beginner questions. This will help your new team member get started fast and start building income for everyone.

Goals

Set personal goals and team goals and be sure they are well known and attainable. Check in with your team often to see their progress and decide if you need to set new goals or even scale them down so they are more attainable. Goals help team members create plans and follow through, a key to success.

Social Sharing

Social media is designed for sharing, whether you’re sharing a news story, pictures, or you’re your location, there’s a site or an app to help you do that. That’s why social media is a perfect fit for affiliate marketing where you are always sharing your opportunity. Take advantage of social media and social sharing.

Facebook Sharing

Facebook has recently unveiled a new feature that allows you to quickly share status updates, photos and links that you or someone else has posted. When you share a great post or a good link, encourage people to click that little button to share it with their friends, giving your more exposure and more traffic. Likewise, don’t be afraid to share a great post by someone else. If you see something helpful, share it!

Share Button for WordPress

You see it at the end of every single one of our blog posts: it’s the ShareThis button. This is a WordPress plugin that you can easily add allowing others to share your content. When you install the plugin, it will automatically populate the Share This button at the bottom of each of your blog posts. With ShareThis, your visitors can easily link to and share you blog post on Facebook, Twitter, through email or any number of social bookmarking sites. It makes sharing easy and takes a few minutes to install and seconds to use.

Share Videos

Video is important to affiliate marketing as we’ve talked about here and here. So why not share your video you’ve spent time making. YouTube allows you to share videos simply with their share button. You can even easily embed videos to your website, just click share and an embed link will appear. You can share any video, so if you see a great webinar you want to share with your time, simply click share to get the short link.

Duplication to Build Your Team

Duplication is a great system to build your team quickly. You may be wondering what duplication is and ways to use it other than team building, you can find our first post on it here. Duplication is simply a way of creating a system of marketing, education and networking that can be easily repeated to add members to your downline, and allow them to use this same system to add members to their downline. Building an educated team is the best use of the duplication system.

Create Your Own System

This may sound overwhelming, but it’s not. As you already know, GDI provides you all the tools you need to market and does much of the work for you, but it’s up to you to put in the extra work and effort to ensure your business succeeds. This may be creating videos, offering help to members outside of your team and just acting as a thought leader in network marketing. Try all of these steps to build your credibility, but to also convert friends and prospects to team members. Once you have found a system that works to build your downline, simplify it.

Share Your System

Once you have simplified your system, create a document or even a website that shares how you have succeeded. Share this document or website with your team members, allowing them to capitalize on your success and build their downline, in turn helping you. Their downline will learn the tricks of the trade and before you know it, you’re practicing duplication and your downline is growing thanks to your system and your team.
